FlightSave24 limitations

Post by streamfuchs »

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and I am using FlightSave24 V3.1 and FStarter24 V4 since two days now togehter with MSFS 2024 flying the horizon simulations Boeing 787-9.
I got familiar with the main functions of both programms and now I have got some fundamentary questions, perhabs someone can help me with these:

I did a flight from Bremen to Frankfurt (EDDW - EDDF) and recorded several waypoint with FlightSave24 (Before Take OFF, After T/C, Before T/D, 2500 alt before touch down, 1000 alt before touch down etc.) to find out what is possible and what is not possible.

Obviously altitude, heading and speed are reproduced.
The position "Before Take OFF" was reproduced with a cold and dark airplane on the runway (which of course the airplane originally not was)
It looks like that the waypoints of the flightplan are reproduced within the CDU als well, but no information about speed and altitude.
So the T/C and/or T/D points are not available when repeating a flight from a certain point.
It is obviously also not possible to arm APP (LOC and G/S) for an ILS approach.

So far my experiences. Am I right with these or am I doing something wrong?
When I did everything right: Is there a possibility with either FStarter24 and/or FlightSave24 (or any other applicationt) to save not only waypoints with Alt/Heading/Speed but to save the complete airplane configuration in that specific moment, at least these parameters which are essential to repeat a certain leg of the flight (T/C, T/D, APP etc.).

Thanks for your help!

Best regards

When FlightSave24 saves and loads flights it uses the MSFS FlightSave / FlightLoad APIs. This will save/load all MSFS related variables but not any airplane specific local variables. If an airplane saves/loads local variables when a FlightSave/ FlightLoad is activated, FlightSAve24 will work 100%. Some airplanes, like the PMDG 737 and 777, saves / loads all local airplane variables when the FlightSave / FlightLoad API is activated.

To overcome this limitation when an airplane that don't saves/ loads local variables, the user can set the the airplane in active pause in FlightSave24 and set up the switches and other avionic settings manually and then deactivate the pause to continue the flight.
